In my free time, I am actively involved as the OMB Treasurer, support the Boys & Girls Club of Thurston County by serving on their Resource Development Committee, I am a member of MLSA, TCRA, local BNI referral group, as well as attending events and providing sponsorships to local non-profits.

Heather represents property owners and developers in all phases of real estate development, from pre-acquisition due diligence through local permitting and appeals. Heather has represented development clients on land use matters in jurisdictions across the state of Washington, successfully permitting and defending a variety of large residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Heather also represents property owners, businesses, and individuals in permitting and zoning regulatory matters under the Growth Management Act, Shoreline Management Act, and federal Endangered Species Act, including the listing of the Mazama pocket gopher and other prairie species for protection under the federal Endangered Species Act.

Outside of land use, Heather is an experienced civil real estate litigator, representing clients in boundary and title disputes and real property-related claims.

Trudy joined Homes First as Chief Executive in October, 2011, and began leading the organization into its third decade of creating safe, healthy, and affordable rental housing in Thurston County. Trudy came to Homes First from Community Youth Services where she served as Manager of Organizational Development.
She has over 30 years experience working in nonprofits around the world. Trudy volunteers her time with many mission-driven organizations that include being a member of the Board for the Association of Nonprofit Insurers (2024-2027), the Washington State Employee’s Credit Union (2017-2023) and as the 2023 Chair of the Board for Washington Nonprofits (2018-2024). Trudy also serves on the Board of the Thurston EDC CB&I Board and the State of WA Combined Fund Drive Advisory Council.
