PURPOSE OF THE FOUNDATION
The Olympia Master Builders Education Foundation, formed in late 2016, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to educate, foster and stimulate interest in the construction industry.
Over the last few years, the Foundation has awarded $46,500 in scholarships to students for the study of construction trades at accredited colleges, institutions and universities or for professional instruction. Through the Foundation, OMB members and staff have also participated heavily in local Career Fairs and other educational opportunities.
In 2020 the Foundation established a Tools for School Program, providing grants to schools for purchasing tools that are needed in their classrooms. The Foundation has also funded a Pre-Apprenticeship Program at Tumwater High School, and is continually looking for more opportunities to duplicate this effort in other schools.
